Do you notice your disk space decrease and you don't know why? Maybe you downloaded a file and cannot remember where it is? If so, don't worry, Space Sniffer is just what you are looking for to solve this problem.

Space Sniffer is very useful when it comes to finding large files and/or folders. To display the drive contains, the software uses a graphic visualization system that uses blocks in a treemap, the larger the block appears, the more size is taking.

 Using Space Sniffer cannot be any easier. As portable software, no installation required, just download it and execute it right away, that's all it takes.

 When you start The software (must run it as administrator), you will have the choice to scan a drive or a file you want to view. Once you have selected one, click Start and Space Sniffer performs a full scan. This could take a couple of minutes to depend en the storage space in use.

you may wait until reach 100 % to a full disk view.

When the treemap appears, you can just hover your mouse cursor over a file or folder to get more info about it. And to zoom in or out into a folder all you have to do is double-click on it or just use the blue box icon above in the toolbar.

 to find or/and access any file folder, just press right click and choose open and you will get directly to the folder path.

The 1 time you run the software it opens with default settings, But you can customize the display by editing the configuration (Edit > Configure). you can change the colors used for files and folders, the look of the boxes, the zoom animation, the font and element size.

Some configuration settings are important to activate.  You may select the "Show free space on new views" and "Show unknown space on new views" to ensure you are seeing everything in a drive or path.

After you finished configuring, Space Sniffer writes your preferences to a configuration file. That will save the software settings until you erase the config file.

Also, the software gives you the possibility to export the current view in Space Sniffer to a text file.
