Facebook has announced yesterday that the social network has experience a data leaks due to a software bug.  6.8 million of private photos has been exposed without users permission, including no posted pictures or shared publicly.

The announcement has been made a day after NYC pop-up "It's Your Facebook" that was about data and privacy settings.
It reveal that some third-party apps had unusual access to a broader set of photos for 12 days in September.
Facebook will told the affected users by notify them about the issue.

This new problem follow a series of data scandal earlier this years, like the Cambridge Analytica company that was accused for collecting data for tens millions of Americans for several years.
About this issue,Tomer bar, an engineering dirctor at Facebook, wrote in a blog post: "When someone gives permission for an app to access their photos on Facebook, we usually only grant the app access to photos people share on their timeline. In this case, the bug potentially gave developers access to other photos."
More then 1,500 third-party apps built by 876 developers were affected by the bug.
Beside giving the developers access to the users photos on the timeline, it let them check the pictures posted in Marketplace and Stories.

Moreover, It provide access to the images that been uploaded by the users but not posted on Facebook. (started writing a post and upload a picture but not finished it or post it).
Facebook will work with affected developers in order to help them "delete the photos from impacted users".
