Alfonso Ribeiro, Known for his role in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", has joined the group of celebs who's got complaint with the Populaire game "Fortnite" and it's pop culture-influenced dances. The star has filed suit against Epic Games (the company which developed the game) claiming that the company stole the famous dance of his character, Carlton Banks.
He has also sued the sports game company 2K putting his dance in NBA 2K game
Alfonso says that the new dance called the "Fresh emote," released on Jan 2, 2018, by the online multiple games "Fortnite", it's a carbon copy of his dance moves on the '90s sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air".
He's asking for a legal order to stop both games from using his moves without any rights.
He also claims he's started a procedure in order to copyright the Carlton dance.
The lawsuit is similar to the one filed by the actor earlier this month for ripping his "Milly Rock" dance.
Alfonso's attorney, David Hecht of Pierce Bainbridge Beck Price & Hecht LLP, has declared to TMZ, "It is widely recognized that Mr. Ribeiro’s likeness and intellectual property have been misappropriated by Epic Games in the most popular video game currently in the world, Fortnite."
He continues, "Epic has earned record profits off of downloadable content in the game, including emotes like “Fresh.” Yet Epic has failed to compensate or even ask permission from Mr. Ribeiro for the use of his likeness and iconic intellectual property."
